Prehnite necklace-with green diamonds

Prehnite necklace-with green diamonds

Here is a recent necklace I constructed out of gold, silver,a large prehnite and green diamonds-it's reversable !

The thing with handmade chains is they are so laborious!!1Whe I get the time I will post some pic's on the stages a chain goes through before completion...

Basically you start with wire-heat it then shape each piece around a" mandel'(jeweller's shapey thing!)-so EACH LINK is made from scratch-they are then soldered onto each other link -one by one...

Sometimes a necklace this long will have well over 50 seperate solders.

Then it's clean up time!I use @ 7 different sandpapers before polishing by hand on a wheel(very naughty and NOT RECOMMENDED-dangerous!)-but I ca'nt get the finish I so desire via polishing /tumbling machines.

I then "texture" inside each and every link with a tiny burr-I HATE when you can see bad finishing -such as solder marks...I'm really pedantic!!(spelling?)

I tried to get Bella to model some work for me -but I ran out of dog biscuits!!!She's so cheap!!!

"JuST GIVE ME DA biSCUIT,da biscuit,bikkie,biscuit."..

*note biscuit is perched on my head...
