Sitting here sipping on 2 week old Pinot *( yes, it does taste rather like vinegar but,hell I'm cheap ,and as my son just stated "Is'nt wine better when it's older?)Bless him..
Wow,what a ride
A huge big thanks to all the Aucklanders who came ,saw and spent-and to those who did'nt spend but bought kind words,warmth and praise-because to those who know me even a very little they will know this whole stint has never been about making cash-it's about being creative and doing what I love-it it covers the mortage and feeds the kid and dog then hey!I'm filthy f@ckin rich...
The dog can alway's live off tennis balls -she destroy's them instantly ,and spits them all over the floor.
Anyway back to the show-to those who did go-what did you think?So much to choose,so many different styles and some bloody amazing construction...I'll never really get the whole contemporary "arty,farty"jewellery "scene"-and I will try and behave ,take a deep breath and contain my opinions...*Note to self "Don't Blog and Drink"
BUT-did anyone see the necklaces made of icing?Cool,if you got peekish before dinner you could just lick your neck(like a right spack!)...Or I'd order one in peppermint flavour for an after dinner minty treat!I'd have prefered some kind of necklace made out of chicken satay sticks -much more satisfying!
I was lucky to be beside some cool people-the Gorgeous Gail and the rolicking Roger-what a bloody hoot!Actually most people are very,very nice-a few snooty,precious types..."It's o.k. you can smile ,your face won't crack(maybe it was the botox ,or the fact she was manning a stand with a guy that looked straight out of Abba..."Bjorn,Bjorn arv you lost your Frida,is dat why you are so saard?"
Or the guy who keeps on comming over and looking intently at my work over,and over-yet never speaks to me?Am I Harry Potter-do I have an invisabilty cloak?HELLOOOOOO.....I know who you are gwasshopper(ginger haired gwasshopper)
Anyway,do let me know if you went to the show-if you bought a piece flick me a pic with you wearing it and put it on my facebook fan page-the best (funniest) pic of a client wearing one of my pieces will win something cool...No not steak knives!
