Just a quick note myself and my lovely assistant Martine are back pretty much full time BOTH DAY'S all weekend at the Art Centre market.
Of course do keep in mind I do travel sometimes(visiting exotic places such as Blenheim!)
Ha!Ha!
That and if the weathers a total pile of poo*(something my very ,nice clean dog decided to roll in on a recent trip to the West Coast..yum!!!A fresh ,green, smelly pile of Cow Crap!!!)
I can't believe it-I've finally succumbed to the "dreaded lurgy'-
You know the kind-that bug that your friend has,or your friends brothers kids..The one that's been going around more people than Pamela Andersons undies*(Did anybody see her at fashion week)..trashy,trashy,trashy!!
So yep-I'm feeling like shite-trying to smile ,because we all know mum's DON'T get sick-do they? One day on the couch is pretty much all you get IF you play your cards right.
Well,it's finally arrived and despite me sounding kind of repetitive -I'm bloody happy SPRING has arrived...
This means I tend to get out more, anyone familiar with a Southern winter realizes exactly what I mean-as in winter it's all about staying in,drinking wine, eating slow cooked lambshanks...Which I cook to perfection*(unless of course I've started too early on the wine!)-or Tequila as was the scenario one fateful Sunday arvo...
So I'm brushing of my "squirrelness"-is that a word-if it's not I don't care..
Just a quickie...
Looking at heading back to the Fart Centre-(opps...too many wines )-Sept 12th SAt
I mean ART CENTRE market next Saturday-so those in the CHCH area -please come say hello...
Oh-and by the way I like soy cappuchinos-no sugar thanks!!!
Apologies all-it has been a while!
Is'nt it great now spring is here?We drove down to Dunedin to visit my folks the other weekend and I could'nt get over how many tiny baby lambs had hatched(oops...that's incorrect as they are not birds deb!).considering it is only today the first day of Spring-so far it's been a warm starter...Yipppeeeee!!!
Now I love gardening-well..love is a strong word-so i 'enjoy" is a better term growing things-which is far nicer than killing things(Karma and all that).
Last week a customer of mine rung asking if I could 'fix' a ring she had bought recently for son from a well known store in Christchurch .
I was'nt sure what she mean't so asked her to bring it in and show me..*(I don't normally touch repair work ,but she's such a great customer and she seemed so upset! What the hell!).
The ring in question was a Dyberg Kern mens ring-it was only 2 months old but already the Rhodium plating had worn off,and rendered the finish on the ring all mottly ,tarnished and cheap looking.
Jewellery is alway's an emotive buy-rarely is there not a story that surrounds it's purchase, thoughts feelings come into play more often than not ...But what are the other things to consider before spending (or in some cases)-COMPLETELY blowing the budget on that new piece of bling!!
Brrr..Is'nt it bloody freezing!!!
Well, this side of the world is and especially in my little workshop corner!
But,never fear I've a new competition running to "warm the cockies of ya heart"(or is that "cockles"?)...
Join my fan page on facebook-Debra Fallowfield-contemporary jeweller,I'll try putting up a link ,but we all know how computer dumb Deb is!
Well,I'm back home in Christchurch after what was a hugely sucessful 4 day's in Auckland..
Sitting here sipping on 2 week old Pinot *( yes, it does taste rather like vinegar but, hell I'm cheap ,and as my son just stated "Is'nt wine better when it's older?)Bless him..
Wow,what a ride
Wow!
Hard to believe tomorrow I fly up to "the big little city"*(who came up with that crappy phrase-and how much did they get paid for it?)-I swear some times Im in the wrong industry!!!
Anyway I've mountains of new work and after a well needed massage for "grinder infused" muscles and a lovely girly manicure(dark silver darrrlings...)I'm felling slightly human.
I tell you what that bloody grinder of mine deserves a holiday too-I can recommend good ol' Makita-it just keeps going!
