I've just returned from a three week stint in Oz-first stop Melbourne...
I'm rather fond of Melbourne -especially Fitzroy ,so I was even luckier on finding the most wonderful accomodation at the Brooklyn Arts hotel.The hotel is run by the lovely Maggie -who embraces or things artistic with a passion!Perfectly situated in Fitzroy close to Gertrude Street and Brunswick Street I had a wonderful easter trawling the many wonderful clothes boutiques cafes and vintage stores -finding the most amazing olive green suede and leather boots in a quaint vintage store on Gertrude St.
The food seems to be great wherever one goes-service is superb in most cases.
The only perhaps letdown was the art -I'd hoped to find some pieces to add to my growing collection -but no such luck!It seemed to me the best work by far was Splayed boldly on alley ways,walls-the graffiti art is mindblowing!
