No they are more vivid red ,bold orange,gold,pewter,bronze-it's very ,very pretty here at the moment in the garden city.
I've been working away at new "planet" designs-for bracelets and necklaces ,hoping to showcase up at the national jewellery show in Auckland mid July.That and my "starlight starbright" bracelet in Sterling-not gold (which has a price tag that makes people faint).
Despite the recession,downturn -what ever you want to call it business is good-I've had work featured (or have more precisely in this very issue) in Kiaora mag ,Air NZ's inflight magazine this month.I've had a few bites from some Australian mag's so fingers crossed!The media wagon is a shakey beast."One minute you are in the next-you are out!"Which by the way is my favourite T.V. show at present,now TOP CHEF has finished.Another time another place -I'd be on that show..I do,do adore fashion!Another goal is to design a range one day for a well known KIwi fashion designer-that would be fantastic!All in good time-till then it's getting into winter which means "head down,booty up" and gives me a chance to work on new pieces.
We have a new water feature out the front -it's very clever-my husband is a very creative bloke,having the ability to create art out of nothing-he's a real nature boy,unlike city girl me!He's also a bloody good jeweller and one day when we are feeehold we would like to perhaps work together*(without killing each other!).
In case anyone is reading this -it's nearly time to stop work at the markets,once upon a time I perservered with those cold months -and still tried selling down in winter.But I'm too old(or is that wise)-the concrete kills me..I shiver,and shake all day .The lovely Martine will fly home to her native France for 2 months -but we will be back in Spring -probably around the end of September-do remember if you ever want to view my work or commission a piece just email or call me on 03 9426527...I'll be hiding in the warmth!
